Introduction to Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar Yoga, a rigorous process. The Iyengar Yoga certification process is considered the “gold standard” of Yoga teaching credentials. It is very rigorous, ensuring a well-trained instructor in the art, science, and philosophy of Yoga. Iyengar instructors take a decade of training before they are qualified to teach, not hours.

In an Iyengar® Yoga class, you can expect a safe and methodical approach to practising yoga postures and breathing techniques. The focus is on precision, alignment, and awareness throughout the practice. The class involves a carefully sequenced series of poses that aim to develop strength, flexibility, endurance, concentration, and relaxation.

The teacher, who is well-qualified, provides clear demonstrations and explanations. Additionally, individual correction and adjustment are given to ensure proper alignment and enhance the benefits of each posture.
