<p> Cyprus has a rich musical and dance tradition, which
is quite different from the Greek one. The typical instruments which
accompany the dances are the violin and laouto. </p>

<p> Laouto is a lute with four double strings, which is played with a
quill of an eagle or vulture. Many dances are performed face-to-face
and as a suite. Men and women are very nimble with their feet. The
dances are very popular at weddings; one reason is the allusion to
